Travel & Accommodations FAQs
What are the travel logistics for remote employees?
For those arriving from out-of-town, your flights and transportation will be covered by your departmental T&E budget, and your hotel accommodations will be covered by the program for approved nights. Any extended stay will be at your own expense, and a credit card will still be required at check in for incidentals. Utilize Egencia or your current corporate travel provider to book your flights and rental car if needed (your manager’s approval is required). You will be able to book your hotel room during the registration process, at which time your name will be added to the rooming list. Please do not contact the hotel directly.
Are attendees from Irvine considered remote—covered by the departmental T&E budget?
Yes, due to the early start time on Day 2, those attending from our Irvine office will have the opportunity to stay overnight as needed. For non-remote attendees, hotel accommodations and personal mileage will not be reimbursed without the specific approval of your SLT level manager.
Can San Diego and Irvine employees get a room at the conference hotel?
San Diego-based employees will need to drive to the meeting. Irvine employees may book a room at the hotel if attending multiple days; please contact your manager if you have questions about whether or not you are approved for a hotel. San Diego-based Mitchell employees who are required to attend evening events can register to stay the night at the conference hotel using the Mitchell room block and receive a subsidized rate of $120 per night, plus tax. This amount is not eligible for reimbursement.
Can I stay at a different hotel?
Mitchell has a room block, at discounted rates, reserved for 2020 Kickoff attendees at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. All attendees who require overnight accommodations will stay at this property in order to meet the contracted rooms reserved. Individual reservations at other locations will not be reimbursed.
