The State of Casualty Solutions: Enhancing the Customer Experience

Presenter: Nina Smith
Listening is the key to enhancing customer experiences. With that in mind, the Casualty Solutions Group has been gathering feedback and gaining insights to improve the experience for our customers. In this session, Nina Smith, Executive Vice President and General Manager, will share key learnings and explain how these learnings are influencing Mitchell’s technology and services now and into the future.

Roadmap Highlights and Expert Experience in the mPower Connections Hub

Presenters: Rebecca Morgan and Norman Tyrrell

Find out more about where Mitchell is headed! Rebecca Morgan and Norman Tyrrell will kick off this session with highlights of recent product and service updates plus offer additional insights into the Casualty Solutions roadmap. Then Mitchell experts will provide interactive presentations in the mPower Connections Hub including casualty product demonstrations and an opportunity for deeper discussions.

Three P&C Industry Game Changers

Moderator: Nina Smith
In today’s dynamic P&C industry, it can be difficult to keep up with the most important innovations and trends. In this session, industry experts will share insight into what they have identified as the biggest game changers that will shape the P&C industry now and into the future.

  • Jeff Ryan from Esurance: In the casualty industry today, insurers are not only competing with each other, but are also trying to keep up with customer experience standards set by leading technology companies from industries around the world. Jeff Ryan will explain why and how carriers and other payors can overhaul their customer experience to keep up with today’s “on-demand” economy.
  • Eric Barberio from Paradigm: Technology is erupting in the P&C industry, but some innovations have proven to be more popular than others. Eric Barberio will take a closer look into telemedicine and explore some reasons why despite plenty of interest and excitement, it hasn’t taken off yet in the U.S. market.
  • Brad Starr from Partners in Leadership: Making cultural shifts and improvements within an organization can help steer a company down the path toward better outcomes. Brad Starr will provide tips and examples for how organizations can start making changes now to see improvements down the line.

The Whole Picture: P&C Industry Trends and Legislative Updates 2018 – 2019

Presenters: Michele Hibbert-Iacobacci and Brian Allen
With many regulatory updates in the past year and prevalent changes in the P&C industry––opt-out legislation, new formulary and opioid regulations, the continuing debate on medical marijuana and more—it’s imperative that your program is up-to-date and in compliance for the states in which you operate. In this session we will review the major trends, consider what may be on the horizon and explore how it all will affect your organization.

Auto Physical Damage

Freedom Platform and Roadmap

Presenters: Olivier Baudoux and Debbie Day
What a difference a year makes! Mitchell announced its Freedom platform one year ago at our 2017 conference. Since then, the rate of change has accelerated at an unprecedented pace! We’ll review the industry trends that drove the four pillars of Freedom: Cloud Computing, Claims Automation, Partnering Well, and the “true north” of Proper and Safe Repair. More importantly, we’ll discuss Mitchell’s solution map and what you can expect on the APD Roadmap. APD General Manager Debbie Day and Product Leader Olivier Baudoux promise a thought-provoking and compelling session to summarize the many advancements Mitchell is delivering now and in the next year.

Measuring and Driving Performance

Presenters: Ryan Mandell and Nate Raskin
Forbes recently noted: “Data has always been at the heart of the insurance industry. What has changed in our current reality to create massive disruption is the amount of data generated daily and the speed at which machines can process the info and uncover insights.”
This analytics-based session will cover APD trends and how Mitchell solutions help industry participants leverage the power of data through today’s technologies. Some of what we’ll cover: new model vehicles and the challenges they create for all of us, next-generation metrics, network scorecards, and objectively measuring a proper and safe repair process.

Alphabet Soup and the New Networks

Presenters: Scott Baierl, Jerry Gastineau, and Palak Samel
The APD industry has known the acronyms DRP and OEM for many years, but CRN—Collision/Certified Repair Network is new to the APD alphabet. Body Shop Business recently reported that in 2012, fewer than 350 body shops claimed OEM certifications in North America. Now, there are 10 times that many. In less than five years since mass-market OEM body shop certification was launched, more than 3,500 collision repair providers carry the official certification of one or more auto manufacturers. These OEM-certified repairers now account for over one-third of all of the collision repair work revenue performed in the country. In this session, we will profile the skyrocketing growth of OEM-certified body shops, review the various implementations of these new networks, and explore how Mitchell solutions are helping the industry embrace both existing and new networks.

Technology Trends Transforming the Auto Physical Damage Experience

Presenters: Ravi Nemani and Scott Kozak
Gartner predicts that global artificial intelligence business value will reach $1.2 trillion this year, an increase of 70 percent from 2017. They maintain that customer experience improvements will represent the majority of artificial intelligence business value through 2020. In this session, we discuss six big technologies: vehicle technology and connected cars, opportunities for smarter assignment, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision and blockchain. Mitchell innovators will provide a behind-the-scenes tour of solutions currently in production and what is coming soon, including touchless claims and the journey to automated estimating. Ultimately, we will tie consumer, vehicle, and key technology innovations together and present Mitchell’s view on how APD will be forever transformed.

Pharmacy Solutions

A Data-Driven Approach to Regulatory Strategy

Presenters: Mike Bishop and Mitch Freeman
Data drives better outcomes throughout the claims lifecycle, but can it have an industry wide impact? It can when it’s a part of a 360 degree regulatory strategy. In this session, learn how Mitchell uses a data-driven and collaborative approach to proactively identify industry issues, leverage data, offer consultative expertise to regulators, leverage clinical expertise and capabilities to implement changes, then follow-up to ensure the regulations have the intended outcome. In this session you will also get insights into recent regulatory changes regarding opioids and the impacts they have had in the industry thus far.

The Whole Picture: P&C Industry Trends and Critical Legislation—2018 and Beyond

Presenters: Michele Hibbert-Iacobacci and Brian Allen
With many regulatory updates in the past year and prevalent changes in the P&C industry––opt-out legislation, new formulary and opioid regulations, the continuing debate on medical marijuana and more—it’s imperative that your program is up-to-date and in compliance for the states in which you operate. In this session we will review the major trends, consider what may be on the horizon and explore how it all will affect your organization.
